I'm Expecting A Life Change

Special Enrollment Period (SEP)

If you’re past 65 and not yet on Medicare, or if you’re already on Medicare and are expecting a life change to be taking place, then it’s a good idea to call us to see if any changes need to be made to your plan. Certain life changes will qualify you for a “Special Enrollment Periods” or “SEP” in order to make changes. Some common examples of qualifying life events may include a change in your employer benefit eligibility status, moving somewhere outside of your current plan’s service area, or a change in your Medicaid eligibility status. If you have a Medicare Supplement, then typically you keep that plan from year to year indefinitely despite experiencing a life-changing event, however, it’s always a good idea to call us and check. For example, if you’re moving states, you’ll most likely keep your supplement exactly as is, but if you have a Medicare Advantage Plan or Medicare Prescription Drug Plan you will need to see what plans are available in the new area that you’ll be living in.

We do not offer every plan available in your area. Currently we represent 5 organizations which offer 49 products in your area. Please contact Medicare.gov or 1–800–MEDICARE, or your local State Health Insurance Program to get information on all your options.
